While reading The Guardian found a photo reportage on Sir John Soane’s house and museum in Lincoln’s Inn Fields, London, called: The strange cabinets of Sir John Soane – in pictures
The companion article by Rowan Moore :Sir John Soane’s private apartments: obsessive, eccentric brilliance gives an interesting account on the weirdness of this titan of the british architecture. Amongs the things that I found out was the quarrels with his son George who “challenged his father’s will on the grounds of insanity”. And like the article’s author, I believe that it is quite understandable to presume he was going bananas in view of his obsessive interior cluttering.
A well written and rounded article for a lazy sunday afternoon.
